SOLIDAR SUISSE GENEVA IN THE HEART OF THE INTERNATIONAL CITY
Solidar Suisse Geneva was founded in 2014. Section of Solidar Suisse, this association supports projects in the field of international solidarity. In particular, it aims to highlight the commitments of Solidar Suisse in Geneva in the fields of development cooperation. Chaired by Valery Bragar, the association brings together representatives of Geneva civil society and Solidar Suisse.
DEMOCRACY AND LOCAL GOVERNANCE ON THE AGENDA
Solidar Suisse Geneva is involved in the implementation of two projects. In Bolivia, through the LanzArte project, young people are working for human rights, in particular through the creation of theatre and dance performances. In Mozambique, the populations of districts and municipalities participate in the governance of local authorities, particularly in development committees. For the implementation of these two projects, Solidar Suisse Geneva is in contact with the Solidar Suisse Coordination Offices in these two countries.
EVENTS
In November 2019, for its 5th anniversary, Solidar Suisse Geneva organised the visit of a Bolivian delegation from the LanzArte project: the Danzur company from Cochabamba. To bring the message to the heart of the international city, a show was co-created between Geneva and Cochabamba. Ten young dancers chose to express themselves on the theme of migration and separation. The show TRAVESÍA (in French) was presented eight times, at the Théâtre de la Parfumerie, in front of students from several schools, on the Place des Nations, as part of CinéSaussure on the fringes of the FILMAR festival and at the Undertown cultural space. A magnificent reception was reserved for this artistic creation, which highlighted the commitment of young people.
